An Open Door And Plenty To Go Around: An Italian Thanksgiving

I'm part Italian. I'm Italian. Have I mentioned I'm Italian? I could be a little proud of that. Italians are loud, dry, olive skinned, food loving, family first, hot tempered jokers and they're the best crowd you'd ever want around. With all of this, you can imagine Thanksgiving being nothing short of amazing. We incorporate traditional Thanksgiving foods but the Italian food takes the win.  My dad is head of the Gnocchi. There's a trick to Gnocchi to make it chewy and not doughy....and I'm keeping that to myself. Haha. Gotta have some mystery in this world, right?   We have Grandpa doing Bagna Cauda- which is a warm dip from Piedmont, Italy made from garlic, anchovies, olive oil and...

Phil and Teds Stroller Review

To start, I have to add that I've tried 5 strollers before this one (FIVE!!! GUYS!)- and this one takes the cake. Did I spoil the review? Nah, keep reading. As mama's, we all know the struggle of going into a store with our babes. Do I baby wear him (we'll both end up sweating to death because we are warm blooded I tell ya), do I set him in the cart to get bacterial meningitis like the circulating Facebook article says, do I leave him in the stroller, carseat....???? This was a constant struggle before our beloved (okay, that's a little dramatic-but still) Phil and Teds Stroller. When I first received it, I immediately noticed the quality- leaps and...

Top 5 Baby Must Haves 0-6 Months

Before I delivered, I WORSHIPED the must have lists which is why I must contribute! More amazing products are coming out every day and these literally SAVED me. Now I must say, we dabble in attachment parenting so the list follows *somewhat* accordingly. Hope this helps you and good luck on your new baby journey my friends! 1. Baby Wearing: I cannot stress this enough, it is THE master baby soother. We are a little slow here in the US to hop on the bandwagon of baby wearing but it is so helpful and it's gaining traction! Whether it's a ring sling (our favorite), super soft wrap for daily wear (favorite wrap), a baby carrier for the heavier babes and...

Baby Nursery

Since Denver's nearing his 6 month mark, it's probably appropriate I post his nursery. Now, an honest disclaimer: this kid has not slept in his crib once- he's taken a likening to a queen size bed of his parents. We're in trouble. At the 6 month mark we plan on using an Angel Care Video and Movement Monitor , that way my peeking in on him won't wake him up (hover mother problems...), I can just sneak a peek at the video and be rest assured that if his breathing falters, i'll be notified by the movement sensor. So cool, but more on that later. Some of you may know I live in the tiniest of tiny farm houses, though I love...

Birth Story: Hello Baby Denver.

If you would have told me a year ago I'd be a Mother to a sweet baby boy, and he'd introduce me to what life was about- I'm not sure I would've believed you. It seemed unobtainable you know? Clayton and I struggled with infertility for the span of our (at the time) 9 year marriage, but we both agreed fertility wouldn't define us. It wouldn't define us as a couple or our worth individually. Culturally in Utah, being married for 9 years without children was considered a little strange and we were asked about it often- and honestly, that's okay. Some might find it offensive that people ask such a personal question, but people are sometimes clumsy with their...
